Originally conceived as a sort of bug reporting platform for all of life’s annoyances, it slowly turned into something… different, and harder to explain. \u00a0Built in Meteor<\/a>\u00a0in early 2015, there was a demo<\/a> version hosted on\u00a0meteor.com, but I don’t think it works anymore. \u00a0You can find more\u00a0technical info here<\/a>.<\/p>\n A goal-keeping \/ habit-forming application based on my own best-practices for goal keeping<\/a>. \u00a0There’s nothing particularly special about this app compared to the thousands or so other similar applications out there, but it was a good excuse for me to get familiar with iOS development and building APIs in Flask; that is, before I did so professionally.<\/p>\n The goly iOS app, written in Swift, is available for free on the app store<\/a>! \u00a0Nothing separates this app from the pack, for sure, but I did write it and it should work (at least, I<\/strong> use it, and it works for me).\u00a0 This app could definitely use a solid once-over with usability in mind, and maybe a twice-over with elegance and design in mind… but since I’m not expecting people to ever really use it, I’m not too worried about it. \u00a0Feel free to check it out and give me any feedback.\u00a0 Especially if there are any bugs… Oh, and I implemented the yes\/no swiping myself. \u00a0 Logo design by\u00a0my good friends over at\u00a0Sweeetgum Creative<\/a>.<\/p>\n An API\u00a0built in Python Flask, using SQLAlchemy, Alembic, and probably some other stuff, is available on GitHub<\/a>, which could eventually be used as a back-end for cloud storage and social sharing of goals.\u00a0 However, I’ve completely abandoned that now in favor of using (probably) Firebase — about which decision you can find more on the goly wiki<\/a> I’ve created in preparation for the launch of goly 2.0 (re-written entirely in ReactNative with a Firebase back-end).<\/p>\n But I’m always working on something!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Here’s a list of dumb stuff I’ve built!
